In response to the growing need for cognitive support and social engagement among senior citizens in Sweden, we introduce the “Memory Wellness Hour” course tailored specifically to address memory concerns and enhance overall wellbeing. This hour-long program is designed to offer a holistic approach to memory training, incorporating cognitive exercises, social interaction, and mental wellness practices. As memory challenges often accompany aging, our course aims to empower senior citizens with practical strategies to maintain and improve memory function, ultimately promoting a sense of independence and confidence in their daily lives. Through a combination of engaging activities and supportive community participation, we aspire to create an enriching and enjoyable environment where participants can actively pursue their cognitive health goals.
Objectives:
Enhance Cognitive Function: Implement memory training exercises aimed at improving cognitive abilities such as recall, recognition, and attention among senior citizens in Sweden.
Foster Social Engagement: Facilitate a supportive and interactive environment where participants can engage with peers, fostering social connections and reducing feelings of isolation among senior citizens during the “Memory Wellness Hour.”
Promote Mental Wellbeing: Introduce mindfulness and relaxation techniques within the memory training course to promote mental wellbeing and reduce stress levels among senior participants.
Provide Practical Memory Strategies: Equip senior citizens with practical memory strategies and mnemonic techniques tailored to their everyday needs, empowering them to effectively manage daily tasks and routines.
Increase Awareness of Memory Health: Educate participants about the importance of maintaining brain health and memory function through lifestyle choices, including diet, physical activity, and cognitive stimulation.
Measure Progress and Satisfaction: Regularly assess participants’ progress in memory improvement and satisfaction with the “Memory Wellness Hour” sessions through surveys and feedback mechanisms to continuously tailor and improve the course content.
